Catherine’s Inspiration for Kids is
a federally recognized, 501 (c)(3),
nonprofit organization that is
dedicated to fighting the outrageous
child rape crisis in
South Africa
and other countries. Children as
young as a few months old are being
brutally raped by adult men, many of
whom are related to these children.
What would make human beings act in
such a cruel and vicious manner?
Some of the factors that are
contributing to this issue:

Many men believe the
Virgin Sex
Myth,
which many of the
traditional “medicine men”
are advocating--the belief
that having sex with a
virgin, the younger the
better, will cure them of
STDs, including AIDS.

The huge number of
HIV/AIDS-infected people
living in South Africa and
other African countries has
led to a climate of
desperation and
hopelessness. Some
statistics state that 28% of
people in South Africa have
been affected by HIV/AIDS
and 13% of all people
suffering with HIV/AIDS in
the world reside in the
country of South Africa.

While not all men believe in
the
Virgin Sex
Myth,
many resort to raping
children as a method of
avoiding the chances of
being infected by an older
woman.

|
Many South African
schoolchildren surveyed felt
that “jackrolling” or
“recreational gang-rape” was
“cool” or “fun.” As a
result, a whole new
generation of rapists and
abusers is being created.
|
Our
mission is to put an end to the
horrible crimes against women and
children being perpetrated in
South Africa
and other countries.
CIFKIDS is
planning an
African March of Millions to clearly
demonstrate to the South African
government that citizens of the
world will not tolerate their lack
of action to end to this desperate
situation. We are also working to
provide medical and psychological
care for victims. Part of this
mission includes our annual
Toy Drive,
our small way of bringing some
comfort to children whose childhood,
which should be their magic years,
has been turned into their tragic
years.
We would like to thank all our
supporters. A heartfelt thank you to
Ty's Toys. They were especially
generous. They helped make
Christmas memorable for 700
children. Ty made it possible for
CIFKIDS to meet it's goal for the
toy drive!
